In addition to bringing Flip The Script Publishing to life, Monalisa is a writer based in Atlanta, originally hailing from upstate New York. Some of her biggest inspirations include writers Langston Hughes, Nikki Giovanni, Claude McKay, J. California Cooper, and Octavia E. Butler.
In her debut book of poems, prose, and stories, Wildflower is more than just a poetry collection-it's a raw, unfiltered scrapbook of survival, self-discovery, and emotional reckoning. Woven together with lyrical precision, this debut collection captures the essence of pain, grief, triumph, and victory through the unique lens of a Black woman navigating the complex terrain of identity, memory, and healing.

From the poem Ghetto Angel to Immortalized in Pictures--our favorite 2Pac inspired art from around the world, we're featuring various writings and artistic expression in remembrance of Tupac Amaru Shakur.

Thug Style features a collection of 2Pac inspired ink including Nikki Giovanni's infamous "Thug Life" tattoo which was a public act to challenge those who used the term to justify oppression.
Tupac Shakur's most intimate and honest thoughts were uncovered only after his death with the instant classic The Rose That Grew from Concrete. Written in his own hand from the time he was nineteen, these seventy-two poems embrace his spirit, his energy—and his ultimate message of hope.
